IIoT Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IIoT Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in IIoT development, with a strong background in industrial and open-source IIoT platforms integrating a variety of controllers and other edge devices. As an IIoT Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing IIoT solutions that leverage a variety of industrial hardware and communication protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy IIoT solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Conduct research and evaluation of IIoT platforms, frameworks, and tools for integration into our solutions.
  • Configure and optimize communication protocols such as MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus, and others to facilitate data exchange between devices and systems.
  • Implement robust security measures to safeguard IIoT infrastructure and data integrity.
  • Conduct testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of IIoT systems to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to clients during the deployment and maintenance phases of IIoT projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 months of professional experience in IIoT development, preferably in an industrial automation or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience with IIoT platforms such as Eclipse IoT, Kaa, PTC Thingworx, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).
  • Experience working with a variety of industrial hardware such as PLCs, SCADA systems, sensors, actuators, etc.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and edge computing concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
